KANSAS — John Spicer of Morningside University and Ella Wardle of Bethel University (Ind.) were named the KCAC Men's and Women's Swimmers of the Week, respectively, the conference office announced Tuesday. Despite its name, this award covers a two-week period, in order to match with the NAIA swimming & diving biweekly honors. Both student-athletes were selected for their performances from Sept. 29-Oct. 12 by a vote of conference Sports Information Directors. All KCAC Player of the Week and Swimmer of the Week honors are presented by
Equity Bank.

Spicer's individual success was a driving force behind the Mustangs securing a victory over Dordt in a dual meet. He finished first in the 50 Yard Freestyle and 400 Freestyle Relay, narrowly missing NAIA cuts in both events.

Freshman Ella Wardle took first place in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:08.86) and 200 Yard Individual Medley (2:12.71). The future is bright for the freshman, who in her first performance as a Pilot, helped her team defeat ONU, 149-88.
