KANSAS — Radek Ruzicka of Midland University (Neb.) and Jaidyn Vanschoiack of the College of Saint Mary (Neb.) were named the KCAC Men's and Women's Swimmers of the Week, respectively, the conference office announced Tuesday. Despite its name, this award typically covers a two-week period, in order to match with the NAIA swimming & diving biweekly honors. Both student-athletes were selected for their performances from Nov. 24-Dec. 14 (dates in consideration extended due to Thanksgiving) by a vote of conference Sports Information Directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by
Athletic Solutions.

Ruzicka, a junior from Prague, Czech Republic, had a pair of individual wins in the 100 and 200 breaststroke at the Warrior Invitational. He reached the NAIA "B," or provisional, Standard in both finals. Additionally, he helped Midland to a relay win in the 400 medley relay, and a runner-up finish in the 200 medley relay.

Vanschoiack had the 'meet of her life,' according to coach Liz Germonprez, setting personal bests in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke, and a season best in the 50 backstroke. Her time in the 100 free was a 4.4-second drop from her previous best. She had one individual victory, swam on two relay winners, and added a third and a fifth in individual events and a second and a third in her other two relays.
