KANSAS — Ian Lucas of the University of Saint Mary and Jaylyn Harrison of Bethel University (Ind.) were named the KCAC Men's and Women's Swimmers of the Week, respectively, the conference office announced Tuesday. Despite its name, this award typically covers a two-week period, in order to match with the NAIA swimming & diving biweekly honors. Both student-athletes were selected for their performances from Dec. 15-Jan. 18 (dates in consideration extended due to the holidays in December) by a vote of conference Sports Information Directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by

Lucas has put on great performances in the last couple weeks, hitting NAIA "B," or provisional, qualifying marks in both the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly, as well as being the anchor on several of the Spires' relay teams. This is adding to what has been an impressive junior campaign.
