KANSAS — Axel Scott of Avila University and Daniela Casique of (RV) Bethel College have earned the KCAC Men's and Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from Feb. 23-March 1 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by

Axel Scott played a huge role in a pair of Avila wins over the weekend, defeating NCAA Div. III Illinois College on Friday and Kaskaskia College on Saturday. Scott won 6-0, 6-1 in #1 singles both days and 6-2 (Friday) and 6-0 (Saturday) in doubles with his partner, Daniel Lozano.

Casique put together a strong week on the court. She and her doubles partner, Sara Ladino, earned a 6–2 win at No. 1 doubles, setting the tone early. Casique then followed it up in singles with an impressive straight-set victory over Concordia’s No. 1, Mariana Molano, — who was ranked No. 31 in the fall ITA rankings — 6–0, 6–4.
