Grimaldi and Espinal Earn KCAC Tennis Weekly Honors

KANSAS — Carlos Grimaldi of the University of Saint Mary and Rocio Espinal of Oklahoma Wesleyan University have earned the KCAC Men's and Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from April 6-12 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.

Espinal did not drop a set as the Eagles picked up a win over the Bluejays. In No. 1 Singles, she defeated Amy Holloway 6-0, 6-0, and in No. 1 Doubles, Espinal and partner Jewel Henderson took down Holloway and her partner Adah Branam 6-0. The Eagles also picked up a forfeit win against Ottawa this week. This is the second time this season Espinal has been named the KCAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
