KANSAS — McKayla Cotton of (RV) Avila University and Keira Hammen of Kansas Wesleyan University have earned the KCAC Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from March 2-8 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by

Cotton tossed nine innings across two games this week without allowing an earned run and a 0.78 WHIP. She threw 7.0 innings on Sunday night vs. St. Francis (lll.) - a two-hit shutout hours after St. Francis beat #6 Madonna.

Hammen had a great weekend for the Coyotes. She piled up eight hits while hitting .667 for the four-game weekend in Branson. She hit three homers, and drove in seven runs during the week. She had at least one hit in all four games, and was a big part of helping KWU go 3-1 on the week.
