Evangel Sweeps KCAC Softball Weekly Honors

KANSAS — Maddy Meierer and Naomi Perkins, both of No. 25 Evangel University, have earned the KCAC Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from Feb. 9-15 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.
 
 

Pitcher of the Week

Maddy Meierer - #25 Evangel University

Jr. | P | NIxa, Mo.

Meierer had an exceptional outing against Columbia College on Friday, using a complete game shut-out to help lead EU to a 1-0 win over the Cougars. Meierer struck out nine batters, allowing just one base runner, and threw an efficient 69 pitches (9.8 per inning) to earn the win. This marks the second consecutive week in which Meierer has been named the KCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Naomi Perkins - #25 Evangel University

Perkins had a strong day for Evangel in the two-spot, going 3-4 with a pair of runs scored, an RBI, a stolen base, and two walks as the Valor went 2-0 in Kansas City on Friday.
