KANSAS — McKayla Cotton of (RV) Avila University and Emma Melvin of (RV) Ottawa University have earned the KCAC Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from March 9-15 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by

Pitcher of the Week
McKayla Cotton - (RV) Avila University
Sr. | P/UTL | Costa Mesa, Calif.
Cotton threw a no-hitter on Saturday in Game One against Friends, going seven innings, striking out seven batters, and only allowing two baserunners. She followed that up in Game Two, coming in for two innings in relief, only allowing one hit and getting the save. She also threw four innings against Coastal Georgia, only allowing three hits. In total this week, Cotton had 13.0 IP, 0 ER, 8 K, 1 W, 1 Save, and a 0.46 WHIP. This marks the second consecutive week in which Cotton has been named the KCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week.
