KANSAS — Austin Howell of the University of Saint Mary and Charles Jones of Sterling College have earned the KCAC Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from Feb. 2-8 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by

Austin Howell - University of Saint Mary

Howell keeps recording great marks this year for the Spires' Track and Field program. His 1000m run time of 2:29.25 ranks second in the KCAC and 22nd in the NAIA. This is the second time this season Howell has been named the KCAC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Field Athlete of the Week
Charles Jones - Sterling College
Sr. | Yonkers, N.Y.
Jones broke another school record at the Fred Beile Classic, hosted by Doane University in Crete, Neb. on Saturday, Feb. 7. Jones won the long jump with an NAIA "B" Standard qualifying mark of 7.17m, a new school record for Sterling College. He also finished second in the triple jump with a jump of 14.32m. He currently ranks No. 1 in KCAC in both events, and on the NAIA level, he is ranked No. 19 in the long jump and No. 11 in the triple jump. This marks the second time this season Jones has been named the KCAC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
