Bell and Izuagbe Earn KCAC Men's Basketball Weekly Honors

KANSAS — Wyatt Bell of Southwestern College and Tamaje Izuagbe of No. 4 Oklahoma Wesleyan University have earned the KCAC Men's Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from Jan. 12-18 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.
 
 

Offensive Player of the Week

Wyatt Bell - Southwestern College

Bell powered Southwestern to a 2-0 week, averaging 18.5 points per game while shooting an elite 84.2% from the field (16-for-19) in two victories. Bell led the team in scoring in both games, totaling 37 points, while also adding 11 rebounds for the week, highlighted by a 10-rebound performance in the win over Friends.

Defensive Player of the Week

Tamaje Izuagbe - #4 Oklahoma Wesleyan University

Izuagbe had another strong week on the defensive end of the floor for the Eagles, as Oklahoma Wesleyan picked up two victories on the week. He averaged 1.5 blocks and 1.5 steals on the week, with the standout performance coming in an 86-45 victory over York, in which Izuagbe had two steals and three blocks. He also averaged 6.5 rebounds on the week (5.5/game on the defensive end). This marks the second consecutive week in which Izuagbe has been named the KCAC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
