WICHITA, Kan. — Alli Mickelsen of Kansas Weslseyan University and Phoebi Waller of Sterling College have earned the KCAC Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from April 21-27 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by
Equity Bank.
Pitcher of the Week
Alli Mickelsen - Kansas Wesleyan University
So. | RHP/UTL | Pleasant Grove, Utah
Mickelsen again was the star for the KWU Coyotes in the circle. Mickelsen tossed a complete game in a 3-0 win over Bethany in a game that was suspended from Tuesday to Friday because of weather. It was a scoreless game in the fifth inning when the suspension occurred. She didn't lose a beat on the restart on Friday, completing the game to secure the win, and get the Coyotes into the KCAC Tournament. For the game, she tossed a three-hitter, striking out 10 and worked around four walks in the game. This marks the second consecutive week in which Mickelsen has been named the KCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week, and the second time overall this season that she has earned the honor.
