KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Six student-athletes from the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) were named one of the three NAIA Women's Lacrosse All-America teams, the national office announced May 9. All six players were from Missouri Baptist University, which was a per-sport member in the KCAC in women's lacrosse in the 2023-24 academic year.
Lydia Cornett was named to the All-America First Team as an attacker, while Caroline Karr, Natalie Patrick, and Amelia Shaw were named to the Second Team as a midfielder, defender, and goalkeeper, respectively. Mackaylee Miller (attacker) and Sophia Zegar (defender) earned spots on the Third Team.
Coach Roy Reynolds of Reinhardt (Ga.) is the 2024 NAIA Women’s Lacrosse Coach of the Year in his eighth season as head coach of the Eagles. Reynolds led his team to the championship game for the first time since women’s lacrosse became a championship and ended the season with a 17-1 record. RU's only loss of the year came from NCAA opponent, Kennesaw State University. The Eagles then went on an impressive 17-game win streak before they landed in the NAIA championship game and picked up the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament Champion title along the way.
Clarke Haas of SCAD Savannah (Ga.) is the NAIA Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Year. After playing 19 games for the Bees, she recorded 97 points with 83 goals and 14 assists. Haas posted 160 total shots, with 130 shots on frame for a rate of 81.3%. Haas was also strong on free position opportunities, converting on 16-of-20. She secured 37 ground balls and won 72 draw controls on the season.
The All-America Committee makes the All-America selections. The list comprises 16 members for the first, second, and third teams.
