KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Mackenzie Simmons of Ottawa University was named the NAIA Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. On Monday, Simmons was named the KCAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week. In both instances, she was selected for her performances from March 25-31.

Simmons scored 11 goals in the Ottawa win against Georgetown, which was receiving votes in the NAIA Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Poll at the time. She also won 13 draw controls and had 12 shots on goal.

NAIA Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week
Emma Rittman - #2 University of the Cumberlands (Ky.)

Rittman has a record breaking week as she has totaled 12 points, 11 caused turnovers, 24 draw controls, and seven ground balls. She opened the week with a program-record eight caused turnovers, to go along with 12 draw controls, five ground balls and five points in the win over Montreat. The sophomore followed that up with 12 draw controls, three caused turnovers, and a pair of ground balls in the win over St. Andrews. She was part of the Pats defense that held their opponents to a 30.4% clear rate on the week. Rittman has 171 draw controls on the year, nearly doubling the next closest player on the NAIA statistical leaderboard. This is the fifth NAIA weekly honor Rittman has earned on the season.
