Molenberg and Smith Earn KCAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Honors

KANSAS — Fien Molenberg of Friends University and Paige Smith of Kansas Wesleyan University have earned the KCAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from April 20-26 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.

Molenberg finished sixth and bested multiple NCAA Div. I and Div. II runners with a PR and NAIA Standard time of 2:10:64 at the John McDonnell Invite at the University of Arkansas. Molenberg's time is tops in the KCAC and eighth in the NAIA this season.

Smith's jump of 1.68m in the High Jump at the FHSU Alex Francis Classic was significant on several fronts. It set a KWU school record in the event, it ranks No. 4 in the KCAC and No. 15 in all of the NAIA, and it also surpassed the NAIA "B" qualifying standard for the event.
