Three KCAC Student-Athletes Named to NAIA Women's Basketball All-America Teams

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Three student-athletes from the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) were recognized on one of the three NAIA Women's Basketball All-America teams, the national office announced Monday. All of the All-America selections are made by the NAIA Women's Basketball All-America Committee and are comprised of first, second and third teams.

Kendall Locke of Bethel College earned a spot on the NAIA All-America Second Team. Locke was a force on both ends of the court this season, ranking third in the conference in the regular season in points per game (18.1), fifth in rebounds per game (7.3), second in total steals (97), and first in total assists (185).

Heaven Shockley of Evangel University and Rayland Garner of Friends University each earned a spot on the NAIA All-America Third Team. Shockley earned the KCAC Women's Basketball Newcomer of the Year award following a regular season in which she ranked sixth in the conference in rebounds per game (7.0), second in the conference in total blocks (53) and blocks per game (2.0), and seventh in the conference in steals per game (2.2). Garner, even after her season was cut short due to injury, ranked second in the KCAC in points per game (18.6), fourth in rebounds per game (7.7), and fifth in steals per game (2.4)

Macy Sievers of Dordt (Iowa) was named the NAIA Women's Basketball Player of the Year for the second consecutive year, while Suntana Anderson earned Coach of the Year honors after guiding Marian (Ind.) to its first Red Banner since 2017 in her fifth season at Marian and second season as head coach.
