2025-26 KCAC Women's Basketball All-Conference Honors Announced

KANSAS — The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2025-26 KCAC Women's Basketball all-conference teams and award winners. Student-athletes were selected for all awards by vote of the KCAC head women's basketball coaches.

Evangel University took home the regular-season conference title with a 21-1 mark in KCAC play, as part of a 24-2 overall record. The Valor's success on the court was reflected in the voting for individual awards, as Evangel had two honorees. Heaven Shockley was named the KCAC Women's Basketball Newcomer of the Year. Shockley ranks sixth in the KCAC in rebounds per game (7.0), second in the KCAC in total blocks (53) and blocks per game (2.0), and seventh in the KCAC in steals per game (2.2). The Valor's Madi Wallace earned the second conference honor for Evangel, being named the KCAC Women's Basketball Coach of the Year by her peers.

Kendall Locke of Bethel College was named the KCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year. Locke's name was all over the KCAC statistical leaderboard, ranking third in the conference in points per game (18.1), fifth in rebounds per game (7.3), second in total steals (97), and first in total assists (185). 

Abby Wendte of the University of Saint Mary earned the KCAC Women's Basketball Freshman of the Year honor. Wendte was second on the Spires in points per game (11.4), third in rebounds per game (4.8), second in assists per game (2.3), and first in steals per game (1.9). She tied for 12th in the KCAC in steals per game.

Tayton Smith of Tabor College took home the KCAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Year honor. Smith was tied for the lead in the KCAC in rebounds per game (9.6), third in the KCAC in defensive rebounds per game (6.4), and was tied for fourth in the conference in blocks per game (1.3)

The following athletes were selected by the conference women's basketball coaches as All-KCAC First Team, Second Team, Third Team, Honorable Mention, Defensive Team, and Freshman Team.
