KANSAS — Tiyna Ridge of Friends University and April Phillips of Evangel University have earned the KCAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from Feb. 2-8 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by

Tiyna Ridge - Friends University
Jr. | Edmond, Okla.
Ridge hit the NAIA "A" Qualifying Standard in the 60 Meters for the fifth time this season, this time beating out 80 other competitors that included runners from NCAA Div. II, NAIA and JUCO. Her time of 7.43 is just shy of her school and KCAC record, and she is still tops this season in the KCAC and second in the NAIA. This is the third time this season Ridge has been named the KCAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Field Athlete of the Week
April Phillips - Evangel University
Jr. | Lee's Summit, MO.
Phillips had a strong meet for Evangel last Saturday, finishing 1st in both the triple and high jump, hitting the NAIA "B" standard in both events to qualify for the NAIA National Meet. She ranks second in the KCAC and sixth in the NAIA in the triple jump, and is tied for second in the KCAC in the high jump (ranked 11th in the NAIA in that event).
