KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Laura Gieseler was honored as the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday, after scoring seven goals, as Oklahoma Wesleyan totaled 15 across two matches.
The Eagles improved to 7-1-1 with victories over Ottawa (Kan.) and Bethel (Kan.), beginning the week with a 5-0 shutout of the Braves before recording a season-high 10 goals against the Threshers.
Gieseler accounted for seven of Oklahoma Wesleyan’s 15 goals on the week, averaging 3.5 goals per contest while adding one assist. She registered 13 shots across the two matches, placing 10 on target for a .769 shot-on-goal percentage.
On the season, the senior midfielder has tallied 12 goals with a .727 shot-on-goal percentage, ranking tied for eighth nationally in total goals.
Oklahoma Wesleyan looks to extend its four-match winning streak this week with contests against Southwestern (Kan.) on Wednesday and Tabor (Kan.) on Saturday.
