WICHITA, Kan. — Tiyna Ridge of Friends University and Mayce Russell of Kansas Wesleyan University have earned the KCAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from March 17-23 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.

Ridge had the best performance of her career this past weekend at the TCU Alumni Invitational that featured a stacked field with multiple NCAA Div. I competitors. Ridge set a new school record in the 100 meter run with a time of 11.68 that hit the NAIA "A" Standard, and is currently the top mark in the KCAC and tied for second in the NAIA. Ridge also competed in the 4 x 100 meter relay for the Falcons.

Mayce Russell - Kansas Wesleyan University

Russell, in her first collegiate outdoor meet on Saturday at the Bethel Invitational, tossed a new school record in the javelin, hitting the NAIA "A" Standard, and now currently has the top throw in the NAIA. She won the event by nearly four meters over second place.
