Friends Sweeps KCAC Women's Soccer Weekly Honors

KANSAS — Anahi Ibarra-Arevalo and Alayna Runck, both of Friends University, have earned this week's KCAC Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from Sept. 7-13 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.
 
 

Offensive Player of the Week

Anahi Ibarra-Arevalo - Friends University

Ibarra-Arevalo scored at the 19:35 mark of the first half, and that's all the Friends University Falcons needed to knock off (RV) Science and Arts (Okla.) 1-0 Tuesday night (Sept. 8). It was the Wichita native's first goal of the season, and it was a critical one for the Falcons.

Defensive Player of the Week

Alayna Runck - Friends University

Sr. | D | Wichita, Kan.


Senior defender Alayna Runck fueled the Friends University Falcon defensive unit all night in a 1-0 shutout victory over (RV) USAO. Runck helped the Falcons limit the Drovers to just six shots-on-goal in the clean-sheet win. Runck has now fueled the Falcons to three shutouts on the season, including the last two victories over Grand View and USAO.
