Smith and Duckworth Earn KCAC Women's Soccer Weekly Honors

KANSAS — Jordyn Smith of McPherson College and Bella Duckworth of Sterling College have earned this week's KCAC Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from Aug. 24-30 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.
 
 

Offensive Player of the Week

Jordyn Smith - McPherson College

Jr. | MF | Maricopa, Ariz.

Smith put her team ahead for good in the 72nd minute against Doane (Neb.), giving the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead which would grow to a 3-1 lead before time expired. She put pressure on the defense in both the game against Doane and against Hesston (Kan.), averaging 2.5 shots on goal per game with a shots on goal percentage of 50% for the week.

Defensive Player of the Week

Bella Duckworth - Sterling College

So. | GK | St. George, Utah

Duckworth was a wall for the Warriors in a tough matchup against Southwestern Christian (Okla.). Throughout the game, she recorded 27 saves, with a save percentage of .871 to keep Sterling competitive.
