KANSAS — The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) has renewed its agreement with the
Kansas Independent College Association (KICA), the conference office announced today. These two organizations work in tandem to increase the efficiency and transparency of the athletic departments in the KCAC, with the goals of strengthening our fourteen full-member institutions and providing the optimal environments for KCAC student-athletes.
"The work the KICA and KCAC do together is very meaningful," Brandon Buchanan, KCAC Commissioner, commented. "It's a partnership that helps shape the landscape of our conference and provides opportunities and better experiences for our student-athletes. I'm thankful for the work we do together and will continue to do going forward. I thank President (Matt) Lindsey for his guidance, leadership, and collaboration."
KCAC and KICA have partnered on a variety of projects since at least 2012, with this particular focus (efficiency and transparency in KCAC athletic departments) beginning in 2019.
"I'm proud to work alongside Commissioner Buchanan and his team to improve the student-athletic experience," Matt Lindsey, President of the Kansas Independent College Association, remarked. "I'm grateful that KICA and KCAC share the same perspective - that student athletics is a powerful gateway for students to access a college degree and upward economic mobility."
