Norris and Finocchario Earn KCAC Baseball Weekly Honors

KANSAS — Daniel Norris of McPherson College and Chris Finocchario of No. 12 Kansas Wesleyan University have earned the KCAC Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from March 30-April 5 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.
 
 

Pitcher of the Week

Daniel Norris - McPherson College

Sr. | LHP | Austin, Texas

Norris broke a school record this week for the most strikeouts in a single game, with 14 against York. He threw for eight innings and allowed no runs off of two hits in the victory.

Player of the Week

Chris Finocchario - #12 Kansas Wesleyan University

Jr. | OF | Macedon, N.Y.

In five games last week, Finocchario was big for the Coyotes. He had two hits and drove in two runs as the Coyotes beat (RV) Concordia (Neb.) 4-1. Against Hesston, he was solid every game, getting on base and scoring runs and driving in runs. He hit .615 for the week with a .714 on base percentage and a 1.385 slugging average. His OPS was over 2.000. He also had a homerun-robbing catch against Concordia, and made a couple other outstanding catches against Hesston to keep runs off the board.
