Kansas Wesleyan Sweeps KCAC Women's Flag Football Weekly Honors

KANSAS — Aliyah Wood and Zo Lucas, both of No. 6 Kansas Wesleyan University, have earned the KCAC Women's Flag Football Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from March 23-29 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.

Wood was big in helping the Coyotes post a 3-0 week, including a 21-20 win over No. 1 ranked Ottawa. She had a touchdown catch against Ottawa, three against Southwestern and two against William Woods. She had eight catches for 93 yards against Ottawa, 9 for 113 against Southwestern and 13 for 98 yards against William Woods.

Lucas had a great week for the Coyotes helping them go 3-0, including a win over No. 1-ranked Ottawa. Against Ottawa she had four flag pulls. Against Southwestern, she had two flag pulls, a pass break up, and an interception which she returned for 28 yards and a touchdown. Against William Woods, she led the team with seven flag pulls.
