NEVADA, Mo. — Cottey College (Mo.), a per-sport member in the KCAC in women's flag football, has announced the hiring of Chris Plumb as the new Head Coach of Flag Football, bringing 20 years of flag playing and coaching experience to the Comets.

A native of Spokane, Washington, Chris spent several years immersed in community sports, managing adult flag football and softball programs for Spokane Parks and Recreation, including league operations and tournament coordination. 

Plumb was a staff member at Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School, where he served as an assistant coach in basketball and track. The boys' high school track team won back-to-back standout finishes at the Missouri state championships: 4th place in 2025 and 2nd place in 2026. "I am so excited to join the wonderful culture at Cottey College and jump right in with the Flag Football program. I am so thankful for the opportunity to lead this program to places it has never been before."

Coach Plumb holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Masters in Sports & Recreation Management from Missouri Southern State University. He served as an Adjunct Professor of Kinesiology at MSSU, teaching coursework rooted in human movement, performance, and athlete development.

Coach Plumb will assume his duties immediately.
