Ottawa Sweeps KCAC Women's Flag Football Weekly Honors

KANSAS — Alyssa Linkous and Dejonice Parris, both of No. 1 Ottawa University, have earned the KCAC Women's Flag Football Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from March 9-15 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.

In two games last week, Linkous had 13 receptions for 181 yards and three touchdowns. She averaged 90.5 receiving yards per game in wins over No. 4 Baker and (RV) Graceland. In the win over Baker, she had seven receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown. Against Graceland, Linkous had six receptions for 89 yards and two touchdowns.

In two games last week, Parris had 10 flag pulls, three flag pulls for loss, two sacks, and two pass break ups. In the win over (4) Baker, Parris had five flag pulls, two sacks, and one pass break up. She had five flag pulls, one tackle for loss and one pass break up in OU's victory over (RV) Graceland. This marks the second consecutive week in which Parris has been named the KCAC Women's Flag Football Defensive Player of the Week.
