Maclin and Boyd Earn KCAC Men's Basketball Weekly Honors

KANSAS — Collin Maclin of No. 17 Friends University and BJ Boyd of Avila University have earned the KCAC Men's Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from Feb. 2-8 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.
 
 

Offensive Player of the Week

Collin Maclin - #17 Friends University

6-3 | Sr. | G | Memphis, Tenn.

Maclin's week was highlighted by a career-high 35 points in a 96-84 victory at Ottawa University for the No. 17-ranked Friends University Falcons. Maclin shot an efficient 13-18 (72.2 percent) from the field in the win and also contributed eight rebounds and three assists. He averaged 22.5 points per game, 5.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists overall across the two wins for the Falcons. Maclin is second on the Falcons in both scoring (14.7 ppg) and rebounds (5.3 rpg).

Defensive Player of the Week

BJ Boyd - Avila University

6-4 | Fr. | G | Olathe, Kan.

The Avila freshman has played an integral role for the Eagles since stepping into the starting lineup. He helped Avila pick up two big wins this week, including recording four steals in a big win over (RV) Bethel on Saturday. For the week, Boyd had five steals and one block while pulling down eight defensive rebounds.
