Seven KCAC Teams Recognized in Inaugural NAIA Women's Flag Football Coaches' Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Seven teams from the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) were recognized in the inaugural NAIA Women's Flag Football Coaches' Poll, the national office announced Thursday.

Three teams from the conference were ranked in the Top 10. Ottawa University, coming off of their fifth consecutive national title, earned the No. 1 spot and seven of eight first-place votes. Baker University, a per-sport member in the KCAC in women's flag football, was ranked No. 4, while Kansas Wesleyan University was not far behind at the No. 6 spot.

Southwestern College, along with per-sport members William Woods University, Midland University, and Graceland University, were all in the "Receiving Votes" category of the poll.

Poll Methodology

  • The national poll is for publicity purposes only and does not influence the selection process for national invitational consideration.
  • A panel of head coaches representing four conferences vote in the poll, submitting their top 15 selections to the NAIA National Office.
  • The Top 10 teams are selected using a points-based system:
    • 15 points for a 1st-place vote, 14 for 2nd, 13 for 3rd, and so on.
  • The highest and lowest rankings received by each team are discarded before final tallying.
  • Teams receiving only one point are not listed as “receiving votes.”
