KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Eight teams from the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference/Sooner Athletic Conference qualifying group were recognized in the latest ediiton of the NAIA Women's Wrestling Coaches' Poll, the national office announced Thursday.
Four teams from the grouping were ranked in the Top 20, with Wayland Baptist University at No. 7, Ottawa University at No. 11, Texas Wesleyan University at No. 13, and Oklahoma City University at No. 17. Four other teams were in the "Receiving Votes" category of the poll: the University of Saint Mary, Avila University, Friends University, and York University.
Additionally, Jordan Suarez of Wayland Baptist University was ranked No. 1 in the 145 lb. weight class in the NAIA.
The next edition of the NAIA Women's Wrestling Coaches' Poll is scheduled to be released Wednesday, February 18.
