Lasater and Mulrooney Earn KCAC Women's Soccer Weekly Honors

KANSAS — Cali Lasater of Avila University and Neve Mulrooney of Tabor College have earned this week's KCAC Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Tuesday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from Sept. 28-Oct. 4 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.
 
 

Offensive Player of the Week

Cali Lasater - Avila University

Jr. | F | Gardner, Kan.


Lasater scored a pair of goals on Wednesday at Ottawa, bringing her to a team-high eight on the season. She then added an assist in Saturday's 6-0 win over Sterling. During Avila's six-game unbeaten run, she has played a big part in the Eagles outscoring their opponents 32-4.

Defensive Player of the Week

Neve Mulrooney - Tabor College

Mulrooney had an excellent week for the Bluejay Women. She recorded a whopping 24 saves on the week, including four saves and her fourth straight clean sheet in Wednesday's win over York. On Saturday, Mulrooney recorded 20 saves against No. 24 Oklahoma Wesleyan, keeping the Bluejays in the match. Following Saturday's match, the junior from England currently sits fourth in the NAIA and first in the KCAC in save percentage, with a .917 save percentage on the season. She also now leads the KCAC and sits tied for eighth in the NAIA in shutouts, with five on the season, just one shutout away from second and four away from first. This marks the second consecutive week in which Mulrooney has been named the KCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, and the second time overall this season she has earned the honor.
