Gee Named NAIA Men's Wrestler of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Saint Mary's (Kan.) Brody Gee, now ranked No. 3 at 125 lbs. (as of Jan. 29), had a monstrous weekend at the Missouri Valley Invite, claiming first place in his weight class and earning the Most Outstanding Wrestler Award, only given to one wrestler in the entire meet. 

The Spires, now ranked No. 20, finished seventh out of 61 teams at the event, with Gee aiding the team with 26.5 points alongside his first-place finish. 

The senior, ranked No. 4 in his weight class at the time of the Missouri Valley Invite, went 3-0 at the tournament, trumping then-No. 3 Haden Hernandez by decision, then-No. 5 Anthony Hughes by decision, and then-No. 18 Robert Albert by fall (1:05). 

Saint Mary is back on the mat on Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. CT against Ottawa (Kan.).
