McCutchen Announced as McPherson College Director of Athletic Communications

MCPHERSON, Kan.Josh Daume, Director of Athletics at McPherson College, has announced the hiring of Tim McCutchen as the Director of Athletic Communications for Bulldog Athletics. McCutchen will serve as the primary media contact for all 17 varsity programs and lead the department into the upcoming 2025-2026 seasons.

McCutchen brings a diverse background in the realm of college athletics, including experience in sports information, broadcasting, and coaching. While earning his MBA at the University of Charleston (WV), he worked as a graduate assistant in the sports information department. More recently, McCutchen was the Special Teams Coordinator at Charleston for the Golden Eagles' football program.

"We're excited to welcome Tim to the Bulldog family," Daume said. "He brings a diverse background of knowledge in college athletics, as a student-athlete, a coach, and in athletics communications. We're looking forward to his leadership in our department as we promote our current student-athletes, expand our reach to prospective students and keep our supporters up to date with everything happening in Bulldog Athletics."

A five-year starting placekicker for Charleston, McCutchen put himself into the history books by breaking numerous school and Mountain East Conference records and playing a role in Charleston's first-ever conference championship in 2023. Off the field, he would provide play-by-play commentary for select Charleston Athletics events throughout the year, which put him on the path of joining the sports information staff following the completion of his bachelor's degree in communications.

"I am beyond thrilled to be joining the staff at McPherson College," McCutchen said. "There is no environment quite like a collegiate athletic department, and I am beyond thrilled to have found one to call home in the beautiful town of McPherson."
