WICHITA, Kan. — The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) is pleased to announce the 2025 Women's Flag Football All-Conference selections and individual award winners as voted on by the conference's women's flag football head coaches.
Ottawa University took home the conference tournament title for the fifth season in a row.
The Braves' Madysen Carerra and Chihiro Iwata of Kansas Wesleyan University shared the KCAC Women's Flag Football Player of the Year honor. This marks the fifth straight season Carerra has either earned the honor outright or shared the honor.
Including the postseason, Carrera passed for 5,648 yards this season in 23 games played (245.57/game), with 95 passing touchdowns and only nine interceptions. She also rushed for 280 yards and tallied 10 rushing touchdowns on the season. Iwata accounted for 4,628 yards in the air in 20 games played (231.4/game), including the postseason, with 68 passing touchdowns and only seven picks. Like Carrera, Iwata was also a threat in the ground game, tallying 352 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns on the year, in three less games than Carrera.
Ottawa University took home two other individual awards, as Alyssa Linkous was named the KCAC Women's Flag Football Offensive Player of the Year, and Cynthia Homs earned the KCAC Women's Flag Football Defensive Player of the Year honor.
Linkous took home the Offensive Player of the Year honor for the second time in her career, but for the first time since the 2021 season. Linkous led the Braves with 111 receptions in 23 games, with 1,512 receiving yards and 30 touchdowns. Homs made her presence felt on the defensive side of the ball with 107 total tackles on the year, along with 12 interceptions and 14 pass breakups.
Willy Perez of Baker University was named the KCAC Women's Flag Football Coach of the Year by his peers.
