Herrera Named NAIA Women's Tennis Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Daniela Herrera of Bethel College has been named the NAIA Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. On Monday, Herrera was named the KCAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week. In both instances, she was honored for her performance from March 10-16.

Herrera delivered a standout performance this week, playing an important role in the team's 3-0 record. Her most impressive victory came against Morningside, where she dominated ITA 7th-ranked Line Jensen with a commanding 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles. In doubles, Herrera and her partner Daniela Casique secured another crucial victory, taking down the ITA 30th-ranked Morningside duo, a win that ultimately helped Bethel defeat the (RV) Mustangs in a thrilling 4-3 team victory. She also won all of her matches this week in the two conference wins over Southwestern and Saint Mary. This marks the third time in the 2024-25 women's tennis season that Herrera has been named the KCAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
