McPherson Sweeps KCAC Baseball Weekly Honors

WICHITA, Kan. — Matthew Bomersback and Colt Uphold, both of McPherson College, have earned the KCAC Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from Feb. 10-16 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.

Bomersback was solid for the Bulldogs, picking up a win over No. 22-ranked Tabor College. Bomersback threw five innings with six hits, while striking out seven batters.

Player of the Week

Colt Uphold - McPherson College

Uphold continued his red-hot start to the season with another solid series, helping the Bulldogs to a 2-1 series win over No. 22-ranked Tabor College. Uphold finished with a .500 batting average, a 1.500 slugging percentage, four home runs, seven RBIs and six runs scored. He also stole one base and walked twice. He is currently tied for the NAIA lead with eight home runs this season.
