Rohrberg, Parra Earn NAIA Women's Volleyball Weekly Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Evelyn Rohrberg of No. 5 Oklahoma Wesleyan and Roxanna Varela Parra of No. 9 McPherson College were named the NAIA Women's Volleyball Attacker and Setter of the Week, respectively, the national office announced Tuesday. On Monday, Rohrberg and Collins earned the KCAC Women's Volleyball Attacker and Setter of the Week honors, respectively. In both instances, the two student-athletes were selected for their performances from Sept. 29-Oct. 5.
 
 

Evelyn Rohrberg Soars to National Honors (Original Article from the NAIA — Oct. 7)

Evelyn Rohrberg, a junior at Oklahoma Wesleyan, has been named the NAIA Women's Volleyball Attacker of the Week. Rohrberg's week was highlighted by two performances that showcased her skill.

On October 1, Oklahoma Wesleyan faced Southwestern (Kan.), where Rohrberg delivered an impressive 15 kills with a hitting percentage of .500. Her performance was a key factor in the team's 3-0 sweep, as she averaged an astounding 5.00 kills per set.

The momentum continued on October 4 against Tabor (Kan.), where Rohrberg outdid herself with 18 kills and a remarkable hitting percentage of .593. Once again, her contributions were pivotal in securing another 3-0 victory for the Eagles. Rohrberg averaged 6.00 kills per set in the match.

Across two matches, she accumulated 33 kills with an average of 5.50 kills per set and a hitting percentage of .547. Not only did Rohrberg shine offensively, but she also contributed defensively with two digs and a total of one block assist.
 
 

Roxanna Varela Parra's Breakthrough Week Earns National Recognition (Original Article from the NAIA — Oct. 7)

Roxanna Varela Parra, a freshman setter for McPherson (Kan.), showcased her skills in two road victories this past week to earn NAIA Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week honor. 

In the two matches played, Varela Parra accumulated an impressive 81 assists, averaging an astounding 13.50 assists per set.

Her performance against Bethany (Kan.) on October 1st was particularly noteworthy, where she recorded 48 assists, averaging 16.00 assists per set. 

Varela Parra's performance against Ottawa (Kan.) on October 4th was equally impressive as she tallied 33 assists, averaging 11.00 assists per set. The freshman added six kills to her stat line as well. 

Varela Parra also contributed defensively with 12 digs across the two matches, averaging 2.00 digs per set. Her defensive efforts were complemented by her service game, where she delivered two service aces.
