WICHITA, Kan. — Maddy Meierer of Evangel Unviersity and Hallie Campbell of (RV) Avila University have earned the KCAC Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from April 1-7 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.

Pitcher of the Week

Maddy Meierer - Evangel University

Fr. | P | Nixa, Mo.

Meierer continued her tear last week from the circle, earning a pair of wins for the Valor, who are tied for first place in the KCAC Softball standings. Meierer pitched a complete game win against Oklahoma Wesleyan, going 10 innings and allowing just two runs while striking out nine batters in the 4-3 win. Against Sterling, Meierer took a perfect game into the late stages of the sixth inning when she gave up her only hit of the game. Meierer struck out six batters in the 6-0 win against Sterling, moving to 9-1 on the season.

Player of the Week

Hallie Campbell - (RV) Avila University

Fr. | C/INF | Nampa, Idaho

Campbell had the best week of her young Avila career to help the Eagles to a pair of wins. Campbell had an extra-base hit in every game, and went a stellar 7-for-8 in the two games at McPherson, hitting a total of four extra-base hits, including a grand slam, and driving in six of Avila's 17 runs. The Eagles were in search of a rebound after dropping their first KCAC series of the year earlier in the week, and Campbell certainly helped make that a reality. She led the team in every offensive category while also seeing some time at third base for the first time. While behind the plate against Ottawa, she also caught Macy Roever stealing a pair of times, which is not an easy feat.
