WICHITA, Kan. — Saige Smith of Oklahoma Wesleyan University and Ka'Zem Wood of (RV) Avila University have earned the KCAC Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Tuesday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from March 25-31 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.

Player of the Week
Ka'Zem Wood - (RV) Avila University
Sr. | UTL | Palestine, Texas
Wood put together the best week of her Avila career to help the Eagles start off KCAC play 11-1. In another excellent week for the (RV) Eagles, Wood led the team in hits, RBI, runs, and all three phases of the slash line. Her homer was an inside-the-parker to spark the Eagles in what was then a close game against Southwestern. She followed that by scoring two critical runs in what became a two-run win for Avila over Sterling. A utility player, she has locked down right field for the Eagles over the last month, and played error-free defense there this week.
