Bethel Sweeps KCAC Men's Soccer Weekly Honors

WICHITA, Kan. — Filip Maksimovic and Sean Holness, both of Bethel College, have earned this week's KCAC Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from Oct. 23-29 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.
 
 

Offensive Player of the Week

Filip Maksimovic - Bethel College

Maksimovic recorded his third hat-trick of the season with three first-half goals in the Threshers' 4-0 victory over Sterling. Needing a win to secure their spot in the postseason, the Thresher offense, led by Maksimovic, showed up in a big way during the contest. Maksimovic at one point in the contest had taken four shots, scoring on three of them.

Defensive Player of the Week

Sean Holness - Bethel College

Sr. | GK | London, England


Holness was outstanding in goal for the Threshers in their 4-0 victory over Sterling. The Bethel keeper recorded nine saves, not conceding a goal. One of the biggest saves of the contest came in the second half when he faced a PK following a foul in the box to keep the clean sheet.
