KANSAS — Christian Steward of (RV) Southwestern College, Jaylan Davis of No. 15 McPherson College, and Jonathon Scheffler of Tabor College have earned this week's KCAC Football Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The three student-athletes were selected for their performances from Sept. 21-27 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by

Offensive Player of the Week
Christian Steward - (RV) Southwestern College
5-9 | 210 lbs. | R-Sr. | RB/WR | Long Beach, Calif.
Steward produced 326 all-purpose offensive yards and three touchdowns. He rushed 16 times for 251 yards and one touchdown, averaging 15.7 yards per carry with a 94-yard run. He also caught two passes for 75 yards and two touchdowns, including a 69-yard reception.

Defensive Player of the Week
Jaylan Davis - #15 McPherson College
5-11 | 165 lbs. | So. | DB | Eight Mile, Ala.
Davis contributed quite possibly the most noteworthy performance defensively for the Bulldogs all season in their 14-10 win over Ottawa to remain undefeated. In a defensive battle, Davis compiled nine solo tackles (11 total), a tackle for loss, an interception with a return of 19 yards, and two pass break ups, leading the Bulldogs to victory and a 5-0 record.

Special Teams Player of the Week
Jonathon Scheffler - Tabor College
5-11 | 180 lbs. | Fr. | K/P | Stigler, Okla.
Scheffler had himself a day against Kansas Wesleyan, hitting field goals from 45 and 50 yards respectively, as well as hitting one PAT. He also recorded 231 kickoff yards on four attempts with two touchbacks, averaging 57.8 yards-per-kickoff. The freshman currently leads the KCAC Kessinger Division and sits tied for third in the NAIA in made field goals, with seven on the season.
