KANSAS — Stephenson Kennard of Sterling College, Joshua Ferguson of No. 15 McPherson College, and Jeremiah Schaefer of (RV) Southwestern College have earned this week's KCAC Football Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Tuesday. The three student-athletes were selected for their performances from Sept. 14-20 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by

Offensive Player of the Week
Stephenson Kennard - Sterling College
5-11 | 195 lbs. | Sr. | RB | Fort Worth, Texas
Kennard was the offense for the Warriors in their first win of the season in an overtime thriller against Bethany College. He scored all three of Sterling's touchdowns while also converting the game-tying point-after attempt with less then 10 seconds to go in regulation. He recorded 34 carries on the game for a total of 206 yards (6.1 yards per cary) with a longest run of 32 yards (which was only stopped by the end zone, for Sterling's first touchdown of the day). Kennard's speed, physicality and relentlessness made him a major problem for the Swedes defense and brought Sterling their first win of the season.

Joshua Ferguson - #15 McPherson College

Ferguson was lights out for the Bulldogs in their Top 25 matchup with Evangel. He tallied 2.5 sacks for a loss of 10 yards, part of a total 3.5 tackles for loss (12 total yards lost). Evangel was limited to 86 rushing yards on 35 attempts, zero rushing touchdowns, and only 2.5 yards per carry.

Special Teams Player of the Week
Jeremiah Schaefer - (RV) Southwestern College
6-0 | 200 lbs. | Jr. | K | Augusta, Kan.
Kicker Jeremiah Schaefer delivered a perfect performance for the Southwestern College Moundbuilders, converting all three of his field-goal attempts and all three PAT attempts to account for 12 points. Schaefer connected on field goals of up to 42 yards, finishing 3-for-3 on field goals and 3-for-3 on extra points to provide a reliable scoring presence for the Moundbuilders, as Southwestern defeated Ottawa 30-14.
