KANSAS — Ivi Marcolino of Kansas Wesleyan University, and Isabella Byrd and Sophia Giorgio, both of Avila University, have earned this week's KCAC Women's Volleyball Attacker, Setter, and Defender of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The three student-athletes were selected for their performances from Aug. 24-30 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by
Athletic Solutions.
Attacker of the Week
Ivi Marcolino - Kansas Wesleyan University
Jr. | OH | Guaruja, Brazil
Marcolino had another outstanding week for the Coyotes, averaging 4.86 kills per set. Her best match was against upstart Oklahoma City, who is undefeated at 6-0 with wins over OKWU and Evangel on their slate, where she averaged 6.5 kills per set and hit .317 and kept the Coyotes in every single set.

Isabella Byrd - Avila University
Jr. | S | Lander, Wyo.
Byrd had 101 assists and seven services aces in five matches last week, which included four wins. In her first season on campus, her play has helped Avila win seven early-season games after the Eagles won just five games in 2025.

Defender of the Week
Sophia Giorgio - Avila University
Sr. | L | Elk Point, S.D.
Giorgio put up one of the best single-game performances by an Avila women's volleyball player in program history, with a career-high 50 digs on Tuesday at Stephens (Mo.). She also added 23 more digs in a victory over Hesston (Kan.) on Saturday. Along with Byrd, she has played a key role in Avila's early-season success.
