KANSAS — The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) is proud to announce the 2026 KCAC Football Dr. Ted Kessinger Division Preseason Team, as voted on by the division's head coaches.
Ottawa University and Evangel University both saw 14 student-athletes earn a spot on the Kessinger Division preseason team. The Braves' De'Anthony Curtis earned honors at three different positions (WR, KR, PR). Kyle Cummings (FB and Utility/All-Purpose) and Broc Lyle (WR and KR) of Evangel University were also honored at multiple positions. Rounding out the preseason team were Bethany College with four honorees, and Bethel College and Tabor College, each with two players honored.
Some of the standouts from the Preseason Team include Dominic Dawson and Broc Lyle, both of Evangel University, and the aforementioned De'Anthony Curtis of Ottawa University.
Dawson and Lyle were both part of an Evangel team that secured the 2025 Kessinger Division title, and an offense that led the Kessinger Division in scoring (31.8 points per game). Lyle ranked third in the Kessinger Division in both total receptions (51) and receiving yards (750), and fourth in the Kessinger Division in receiving yards/game (62.5). Dawson was named to the All-KCAC First Team, while Lyle earned a spot on the all-conference second team.
Similar to Lyle, Curtis was in the top five in the Kessinger Division in several receiving categories, ranking fourth in the division in receptions (45), fourth in the division in receiving yards (692), and third in the Kessinger in receiving yards per game (69.2).
