Romani and Rhoads Earn KCAC Golf Weekly Honors

KANSAS — Gabriele Romani of No. 5 Friends University and Catherine Rhoads of Evangel University have earned the KCAC Men's and Women's Golfer of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two golfers were selected for their performances from March 9-15 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.

Romani was spectacular in winning the individual championship and helping the Friends University Falcons win the team title at the Crestview Spring Invitational this past week. Romani bested 67 other golfers and shot eight under par over the three rounds. After shooting one over in the first round, Romani took off and shot six under in the second and then three under par in the third round to fuel the Falcons to a team score of -10 and finish 18 strokes in front of none other than their B squad in second place.

Rhoads competed well last week, finishing as the top KCAC competitor at the EU Spring Invite with a fifth place finish of +21. This marks the third time in the 2025-26 season that Rhoads has been named the KCAC Women's Golfer of the Week.
