KANSAS — Cameron Surles of Southwestern College and Jessica Applegarth of Friends University have earned the KCAC Men's and Women's Golfer of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from Oct. 12-18 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by

Surles captured individual champion honors at the Evangel Fall Invitational, finishing at 9-under-par (201) with rounds of 70, 67 and a tournament-low 64. Surles led the field with 15 birdies and ranked first in par-5 scoring at 8-under-par. He also recorded Southwestern's lone eagle of the tournament. His performance helped the Moundbuilders finish seventh overall, while setting new season-low team scores in both the second and third rounds.

Applegarth posted a runner-up finish individually to power the Friends University Falcons to the Evangel Fall Invitational title this past week. Applegarth shot a career-best +10 overall, just two strokes shy of the top spot to equal her career-high finish. This marks the second time this season Applegarth has been named the KCAC Women's Golfer of the Week.
