WICHITA, Kan. — Trey Abasolo of Southwestern College and Ring Deng of (RV) Friends University have earned the KCAC Men's Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from Feb. 10-16 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.

Abasolo delivered a standout week for Southwestern College, leading the Moundbuilders to a perfect 2-0 record while showcasing his offensive firepower. In a road win at Kansas Wesleyan, Abasolo erupted for a career-high 28 points, shooting an efficient 11-of-17 from the field, 3-of-5 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 3-of-3 from the free-throw line. Against Evangel, Trey scored 19 points while contributing six rebounds, seven assists, and two steals. For the week, Abasolo averaged 23.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game, while shooting an impressive 61.5% from the field and 75% from three-point range. His leadership and scoring efficiency were instrumental in Southwestern's unbeaten week.

Defensive Player of the Week
Ring Deng - (RV) Friends University

Deng produced 5.5 defensive rebounds, two steals and one block per game in two victories this past week for the Friends University Falcons that resulted in the program's first 20-win season since 2018-19. Deng spread out his defensive production, recording eight defensive boards in the Falcons' 75-62 win at Sterling College before a three-steal and two-block performance to fuel a 79-76 victory at McPherson College. Deng now leads the Falcons with 1.5 steals per game this season.
