Baker, King-Bradley, and Thompson Earn KCAC Football Weekly Honors

WICHITA, Kan. — K'Vonte Baker of No. 19 Friends University, Josh King-Bradley of Kansas Wesleyan University, and Cole Thompson, also of Friends, have earned this week's KCAC Football Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The three student-athletes were selected for their performances from Nov. 11-17 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.
 
 

Offensive Player of the Week

K'Vonte Baker - #19 Friends University

5-10 | 180 lbs. | Jr. | QB | Wichita, Kan.

Baker catapulted the No. 22-ranked Friends University Falcons to the KCAC Kessinger Division Championship with two touchdowns and 77 yards rushing on seven carries in a 65-15 victory at Bethany College. Baker's two touchdowns came as part of a 30-point barrage that put the game away and allowed the Wichita native some valuable rest heading into next week's NAIA Football Championship Series game. Baker leads the Falcons with 895 rushing yards on the season and ranks second in the KCAC with 13 rushing touchdowns.

Defensive Player of the Week

Josh King-Bradley - Kansas Wesleyan University

6-0 | 250 lbs. | Jr. | DL | Mont Belvieu, Texas

King-Bradley had an incredible game for the Coyotes on defense. KWU held Sterling without a touchdown, and only one field goal on the day. He was huge helping KWU hold Sterling to only 51 yards rushing and under 50 percent on pass completions. He had 3.5 tackles for loss, which included three sacks for a total of 27 lost yards as KWU totaled 11 sacks on the day. He also forced a fumble, and had seven total tackles on the day. This marks the second time this season King-Bradley has been named the KCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week.

Special Teams Player of the Week

Cole Thompson - #19 Friends University

6-0 | 160 lbs. | So. | K/P | Round Rock, Texas

Thompson made his only field goal attempt from 35 yards and then drilled 8-of-9 extra point attempts to help the No. 22-ranked Friends University Falcons win 65-15 at Bethany College and clinch the KCAC Kessinger Division Championship. Thompson also booted three of his 10 kickoffs for touchbacks. Thompson has hit 9-of-11 field goals and 53-of-57 extra-point attempts for the Falcons this season. This marks the fourth time this season Thompson has been named the KCAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week.
